Maryland Women’s Lacrosse Announces 2026 Fall Ball Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Maryland women's lacrosse team will compete on four dates this fall, all at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
The Terps open their fall slate against Navy and Georgetown on Oct. 2, with familiar faces leading both opposing teams. Former Maryland head coach Cindy Timchal, now at Navy, guided the Terps to eight national championships, including seven straight from 1995 to 2001.
Georgetown head coach Caitlyn Phipps helped Maryland capture the 2010 national championship as a player before adding four more titles as an assistant coach.
Maryland will host Loyola on Oct. 7, facing another familiar face in former Terp and Greyhounds head coach Jen Adams. As a player, Adams helped Maryland win four consecutive national championships from 1998 to 2001 and became the first women's recipient of the Tewaaraton Award in 2001.
Maryland is coming off its 29th Final Four appearance, the most of any school, after finishing the 2026 season with an 18–4 record. The Terps opened the season with 13 straight wins and advanced to the Big Ten championship game.
The Terps welcome back JJ Suriano, the IWLCA National Goalie of the Year and 2026 Big Ten Goaltender of the Year, along with First Team All-Big Ten selection Lauren LaPointe.
Head coach Cathy Reese welcomes eight freshmen to College Park as part of the nation's No. 1 recruiting class for 2026, according to Inside Lacrosse. The group features some of the country's top players across multiple positions, with six Terps earning spots in the ILWomen Freshman Top 100, the final rankings for the high school Class of 2026.
The class is led by Cayden Reese, who held the No. 1 ranking throughout the recruiting cycle. Her longtime club teammate and fellow incoming Terp, Kit Laake, is ranked No. 3, giving Maryland two of the nation's top three recruits.
Reese capped her high school career by leading Maryvale to the No. 1 spot in the Q-Collar Girls National Rankings. She recorded 60 goals, 35 assists and 40 draw controls and earned Senior All-America Game recognition. She will now play for her mother, head coach Cathy Reese, in College Park.
The Terps also welcome three players named to Inside Lacrosse's Women's Top 25 Transfers for 2027. Attacker Gianna Monaco ranked No. 2 among this offseason's transfers, followed by Kira Balis at No. 6 and Ella Romeo at No. 21.
