Terrapins Release Non-Conference Slate

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The Maryland women's basketball team released its non-conference slate for the 2023-24 season Tuesday. The Terrapins' out of conference schedule is highlighted by a home matchup with Syracuse and road trips to South Carolina and Connecticut. 
 
The Terps will open the season by hosting Harvard on Monday, Nov. 6 at the XFINITY Center. 

The following week, Maryland will play at South Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 12 and at Connecticut on Thursday, Nov. 16. The Terrapins will return home to host ACC opponent Syracuse in College Park on Sunday, Nov. 19.

Maryland will travel to Cancun, Mexico to compete in the Cancun Challenge at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya over Thanksgiving weekend. The Terrapins will play Washington State at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 23, then will face Green Bay at 1:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 24. The Terps will return home for back to back home games, hosting Niagara on Wednesday, Nov. 29 and George Mason on Sunday, Dec. 3. 

Maryland will welcome Towson to the XFINITY Center on Tuesday, Dec. 12 for Field Trip Day. The Terps will host 2023 NCAA Tournament participant James Madison on Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Dates and information for preseason matchups will be announced at a later date.

Maryland's Big Ten schedule, all game times and television information will also be available at a later date. The Terrapins will welcome 2023 NCAA Tournament participants Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State and Purdue to the XFINITY Center this season.

Maryland won 28 games in 2022-23 and advanced to the program's 15th Elite Eight and first since 2015. The Terrapins picked up nine wins over ranked teams, including five over top 10 opponents. 

Head coach Brenda Frese welcomes back All-Big Ten First Team honoree Shyanne Sellers, key returners Faith Masonius, Lavender Briggs, Brinae Alexander and Bri McDaniel from last year's Elite Eight squad. Maryland also welcomes five newcomers in NC State graduate transfer Jakia Brown-Turner and incoming freshmen Summer Bostock, Hawa Doumbouya, Emily Fisher and Riley Nelson. Emma Chardon and Allie Kubek are recovering from injuries.
