Martin Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland gymnastics freshman Natalie Martin was honored as the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Martin has been one of the Terps' top performers this season through three meets. Against Rutgers, Martin led the Terps on vault with a 9.850 and was a top three scorer on beam (9.850) and floor (9.850). Those scores helped lift the Terps to No. 21 in the country, including first in the Big Ten and eighth in the nation on beam.

At Minnesota, Martin once again helped lead the Terps with a 9.825 on vault and 9.850 on beam.

Maryland is back in action this Sunday against Ohio State at XFINITY Center. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m., and tickets are free. Fans can also watch the action on B1G+.
