CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA -- The University of Maryland women's tennis team wrapped up competition at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships on Sunday.
Eight Terrapins competed in singles and doubles competition over four days, going 20-9 in singles and 6-8 in doubles overall.
"We're very happy with how the team competed throughout the weekend. The freshman really stepped up qualifying in and beating some strong players," said Head Coach Katie Dougherty. "The depth of our team showed this weekend with 4 players in the round of 16. We had a lot of individual great wins in singles and doubles and collectively had a strong tournament."
Four Terps advanced to the round of 16 in the singles main draw, with Danielle Hack getting to the quarterfinals.
Kallista Liu went 2-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles with Danielle Hack going 3-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles. Oliwia Orlinska went 4-1 in singles and 0-1 in doubles with Ema Kovacevic going 4-1 in singles and 0-1 in doubles.
Tamari Gagoshidze went 2-2 in singles and 1-1 in doubles with Katherine Hung going 1-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles. Diya Challa went 2-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles with Aida Eissa going 2-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles.
