Alexa Rothenbuescher and Sophomore
Natalie Martin have been named to the 2025 Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch list, the conference announced Tuesday.
Rothenbuescher competed in all fourteen meets for the Terps in 2024 being a steady leader on three events. The Fairfax, Virginia native reached her career high 9.95 on floor against Nebraska last season. She also scored above a 9.800 on all three events, bars, beam and floor at the Big Ten Championships last March. Rothenbuescher will be returning for a fifth year this season after a impressive senior season.
Martin, named a Big Ten Gymnast to watch for a second consecutive year competed in all fourteen meets for the Terps on beam, vault and floor in 2024. The Westerville, Ohio native reached career highs of 9.90 on floor, 9.950 on beam, and 9.925 on vault last season. Martin was also named Big Freshman of the Week in January of last year.
The Terps were selected as the No. 9 program in the Big Ten preseason standings and begins their at home play on Saturday, January 18th in a dual meet against UCLA.
