
Terps Take Care Of Business In 9-1 Win Over Southeast Missouri

Maryland (3-3) scored three runs in the second inning on three hits to take an early lead. It scored another three runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game. The Terps remained in control with solid hitting and consistent pitching by Bri Godfrey and Julia Shearer.𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐏𝐒 𝐖𝐈𝐍!!

Madison Ruyan went 2-for-3 and drove in a career-high four runs with an RBI single in the second inning, an RBI groundout in the third inning and a two-run single to clinch the game in the sixth. She added two runs on the day as she contributed to six of Maryland's nine runs scored.
Sammi Woods finished the day 2-for-3 with a double and a single. She also added two runs in the game.B3 | Runyan grounds to second but it's enough to score another run for the Terps her second RBI of the day.

Four Terps recorded RBIs and Maryland drew nine walks as a team. Two of its walks occurred with bases loaded, leading to runs scored. Jaeda McFarland drew a career-high three walks.
Godfrey made her second start of the season, pitching four innings and striking out one batter. She allowed just two hits in the game and one run. The sophomore was replaced by Shearer, who pitched the final two innings while striking out three and allowing zero runs on one hit.B5 | McFarland draws a walk as Maryland is able to bring another run home. Breaking Down The Action
- Maryland got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning. Sammi Woods singled on a bunt and Delaney Reefe tripled down the right-field line to drive in the run. Madison Runyan singled right after into left field to drive in the second run of the inning. The Terps recorded three straight hits and Southeast Missouri walked a batter with bases loaded as Maryland scored three runs in the inning.
- Southeast Missouri scores their first run of the day on a sacrifice fly to center field in the third. Maryland responded with another run in the bottom of the inning. Woods doubled to center. She then moved to third base on a fielding error and Runyan grounded out, but Woods scored on the play. Southeast Missouri recorded two errors in the inning but Maryland took a 4-1 lead.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Southeast Missouri walked four straight batters, scoring another run for Maryland. Runyan then scored on a wild pitch to take a commanding 6-1 lead.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Mazie MacFarlane ripped a single down the left-field line and two more batters walked. MacFarlane later scored on a wild pitch. Runyan then added a two-RBI single to run rule Southeast Missouri.
