Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland women's basketball dominated Wisconsin, 79-63, on Thursday at XFINITY Center in its final home game of the season. The Terps have won five out of their last six games as they continue their end-of-season NCAA tournament push.
Maryland (17-11, 9-8 B1G) led by 20 points at halftime, but Wisconsin battled to trail by only six points early in the fourth quarter. However, the Terps held on by igniting a 13-2 run to regain control. The Terrapins also had a strong night shooting beyond the three-point line to propel it to victory. The Terps shot 7-for-15 from three and Brinae Alexander knocked down three on her own.
Four Terps scored in double-figures with Jakia Brown-Turner scoring a game-high 18 points. She also finished with a double-double with 10 rebounds. It was her 13th straight game scoring in double figures and her fifth double-double of the season.
Bri McDaniel scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Shyanne Sellers notched 16 points, five assists and three steals for another all-around performance.
Wisconsin (13-14, 6-11 B1G) had three players score in double-figures. Serah Williams posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Terps are a perfect 13-0 against the Badgers in their program history.
Breaking Down The Action
- Bri McDaniel and Brinae Alexander knocked down three-pointers to key a 10-0 Maryland run at the first media timeout. The Terps enjoyed a 12-2 lead with their hot start. Maryland led 17-8 at the end of the first quarter.
- The Terps went on another run, this time a 14-2 run, in the second quarter. Maryland was also efficient shooting the basketball as it was 5-for-10 from beyond the arch with four minutes remaining in the quarter.
- The Terrapins entered halftime with a 39-19 lead. McDaniel had a game-high 12 points.
- Wisconsin cut into the deficit as it trailed 42-29 while Maryland hadn't scored from the floor in four minutes. The Badgers made it an eight-point game after outsourcing the Terps 25-13 in the third quarter. Maryland still led 52-44.
- Wisconsin trailed by as little as six points, but Alexander drilled a three to put the lead back to 17 points.
- Maryland used a 13-2 spurt in the early fourth quarter to regain a 17-point lead at 67-50 on an Alexander triple with 4:51 left in the game.

Brenda Frese. "This was a special one to finish at home here with a win. ...It's been a really good month winning five of the last six."

"I didn't really soak it in and when the game ended I was just so grateful that I was able to come back home and was able to come here and my teammates support me. It's just been a fun journey. Time moves fast and I enjoyed every moment of it.
Double-Figure Factors
- Jakia Brown-Turner hit the double-figures mark for the 20th time this season, her first with the Terps, scoring 18 points. Overall, she has 86 double-figure scoring games in her career with 67 coming at NC State. Brown-Turner has scored in double-figures in each of her last 13 games.
- Bri McDaniel tallied 16 points for her 17th game this season and 19th of her career in double-figures.
- Shyanne Sellers scored 16 points and has scored double-figures in 21 of 27 games she has played this season. It was also the 62nd in her career scoring in double-figures.
