Three GymTerps Earn All-Big Ten Honors

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Three members of the Maryland gymnastics program were selected to the All-Big Ten Second Team, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon. Senior Alexa Rothenbuescher, sophomore Madeline Komoroski, and freshman Natalie Martin all received this honor for the first time in their college careers.

Rothenbuescher has earned this award after a standout senior season competing on floor, vault, and bars. The Fairfax, Virginia native has been a consistent leader on these events setting new career highs on all three events this year. Rothenbuescher has career-high scores of 9.925 on bars, 9.950 on floor, and 9.850 on vault. The Senior has also been named a WGCA Scholastic All-American in 2022 and 2021 and also named to the Academic All-Big Ten the past two years.

Komoroski earned All-Big Ten honors after consistent high marks on beam and floor. Komoroski set a career-best score of 9.925 on beam at the Maryland Quad. She also put together a stunning performance on floor at the Big Five meet at Penn State, which landed her a career-high of 9.950. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Native was also named a Big Ten Co-Freshman of the week last February.

Martin has had a sensational freshman year competing in three events contributing greatly to the Terps' success. Martin scored a competition and career-best 9.925 on vault at the Yale Quad. That next weekend Martin scored a career-high 9.950 on beam at the Temple Quad. The Westerville, Ohio native landed a 9.900 career-best score on floor twice so far this season. Martin was also named a Big Ten Gymnast to Watch prior to the season and a Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week this year.

The GymTerps will compete at the Big Ten Women's Gymnastics Championships at Michigan State on Saturday. This meet will be available to watch on Big Ten Plus and with live updates on @TerpsGymnastics on Twitter.
