Box Score PRINCETON, NJ- The No. 58 Maryland Terrapins defeated No. 44 Princeton 4-3 on Wednesday.
Maryland opened the match by taking the No.1 and No. 2 doubles matches and secured the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.
The Terps took the No. 6 & 3 singles matches and Princeton responded by winning the No. 4 singles match to make the score 3-1.
Princeton then took two straight singles matches to tie at 3-3.
With the match on the line,
Minorka Miranda won two straight sets after losing the first to win her singles match and clinch a 4-3 win for Maryland.
"We're so proud of how the team competed this evening... This was a huge bounce back effort at the end of a long road trip playing strong teams," said Head Coach
Katie Dougherty. "We started strong in doubles and had to claw for every point in singles.
"Princeton is a very good team and plays well at home, the team was incredibly resilient and tough tonight and got a great result," said Coach Dougherty.
