Olympian Profile: Diandra Tchatchouang

Diandra Tchatchouang represented the French women's basketball team during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She helped France earn a bronze medal by defeating Serbia 91-76. 

Tchatchouang played for Maryland from 2009-11 under Brenda Frese. She averaged 10.1 points and 5.2 rebounds while appearing in and starting 66 games in College Park. The 6-foot-2 forward was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team in 2010.

After leaving Maryland, Tchatchouang began playing overseas in 2011. She's been playing with CJM Bourges Basket since 2013 but previously played for the Lattes (2011-12) and Perpignan (2012-13) basketball clubs. She was a 2013 second-round draft pick by the WNBA's San Antonio Silver Stars, but she remained playing overseas. 


Tchatchouang competed in several EuroBasket competitions, earning silver in 2013 France, 2015 Hungary/Romania, 2017 Czech Republic, and 2021 Spain/France. 

Tchatchouang is the founder of StudyHall93, an association that helps kids who are part of sports clubs in La Courneuve stay on track with their academic studies, and Take Your Shot, a day dedicated to encouraging young girls in La Courneuve to try basketball. She's also a producer and host of the "Super Humains" podcast and serves on the Paris2024 Athlete's Commission.
