Alyssa Thomas will represent the United States women's basketball team at the 2024 Olympic Games. Thomas missed the 2020 Olympics due to an injury with the Connecticut Sun suffered during the WNBA season. After a long recovery, Thomas helped Team USA win the 2022 FIBA World Cup.

The 6-foot-2 forward is one of the best to put on a Maryland uniform. Thomas played 135 games for the Terrapins from 2010-14, averaging 17.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Over four years, Thomas totaled 2,356 points and 1,235 rebounds, cementing herself as Maryland's all-time leader in both categories.

During her freshman season, Thomas was selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team and named ACC Rookie of the Year. She was later named ACC Player of the Year in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and ACC Tournament MVP in 2012. Among her many other accomplishments, the forward boasts nine All-American honors. The forward was part of the 2014 Final Four teams and the 2012 Elite Eight team that won the ACC championship. 

Thomas was selected No. 4 overall by the New York Liberty in the 2014 WNBA draft and was soon after traded to the Sun. Since being in the WNBA, Thomas has become a four-time WNBA All-Star and has earned a spot on the All-WNBA First Team. She has also been a nine-time WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week and three-time WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month.
