
No. 24 Terps Place Third At Lone Star Challenge With 195.400 Score

SAN ANTONIO – No. 24 Maryland gymnastics placed third with a score of 195.400 at the San Antonio Collegiate Invite on Saturday at Freeman Coliseum. The Terps faced No. 17 Auburn, No. 20 Arizona State, No. 21 Penn State and Temple in rotation.
The Terps opened the meet on the floor exercise with graduate student Alexa Rothenbuescher scoring an impressive 9.900 on the floor to help the team reach a score of 49.100, placing second amongst the other teams. Rothenbuescher's routine was tied for the second-best amongst all competitors with Arizona State's Kimberly Smith.
During Maryland's uneven bars rotation, Sarah Saville scored a team-high 9.825 in her freshman debut. The Terps placed third in this event, falling short of Auburn and Penn State.
Maryland competed on vault in the second rotation. The team scored a respectable 48.550, with a standout performance from sophomore Natalie Martin. She scored 9.800 during her run.
