Kaylene Smikle of the 10
th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team was named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List Tuesday by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Ann Meyers Drysdale Award honors the top shooting guard in women's Division I college basketball. It is named after the Class of 1993 Hall of Famer, Ann Meyers Drysdale.

Smikle is a Preseason All-Big Ten honoree. She earned All-Big Ten First Team honors from the media and Second Team honors from the league's head coaches last year. She led Maryland in scoring with 17.9 points per game and in steals with 50 on the year. Smikle was second in the Big Ten in free throws made (164), while averaging 82.4 percent from the foul line.
