COLLEGE PARK, MD – Head coach Brenda Frese, Preseason All-Big Ten honorees Yarden Garzon, Kaylene Smikle and seniors Saylor Poffenbarger and Bri McDaniel will travel to Chicago this week to participate in the Big Ten Women's Basketball Media Day event at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.

Big Ten Media Day for women's basketball will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 8, as coaches and student-athletes from both all 18 women's basketball teams will participate. 

One segment of the day will be televised live on the Big Ten Network and online here.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 8
1:00 p.m. ET – Brenda Frese, Yarden Garzon, Kaylene Smikle LIVE on the Big Ten Studio Desk 

The Terrapins were predicted to finish No. 2 in the Big Ten, behind just UCLA. Maryland returns All-Big Ten honorees Kaylene Smikle, Bri McDaniel and starter Saylor Poffenbarger. 

Head coach Brenda Frese and her staff signed two transfers in All-Big Ten honoree Yarden Garzon (Indiana) and 2025 ACC Tournament Most Outstanding Player Oluchi Okananwa (Duke). The Terrapins also welcome freshmen Lea Bartelme, Addi Mack, Rainey Welson, Nicole Fritea and Marya Boiko to the roster.
