COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland gymnasts, senior
Taylor Rech and senior Maddie Komoroski have been named to the 2026 Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch list, the conference announced Tuesday.
Rech, a lead competitor on vault and floor, has provided steady consistency for Maryland in all three seasons as a Terp. She earned scores of 9.850 on vault and 9.825 on floor at the Big Ten Championships last March. Last season, Rech posted a career-high 9.900 on vault at NCAA Regionals in April, tying the program's third-best NCAA Regional vault score. The Milton, Georgia native was also named to the 2025 Academic All-Big Ten team.
Komoroski has been a top competitor on both beam and floor, competing all three seasons as a Terp. Last season, her standout performances included a 9.825 on floor at the Big Ten Championships in March and a sixth-place tie on beam with a score of 9.925. She went on to earn a career-high 9.950 on beam at NCAA Regionals in April. With that performance, Komoroski was named the 2025 NCAA Pennsylvania Regional Co-Champion and set the program record for the highest NCAA Regional individual beam score (9.950). Outside the gym, Komoroski was most recently recognized as a Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Service Award winner for her impact and service in the community.
The Terps begin their regular season at home on Friday, January 9th in a quad meet against George Washington, LIU and New Hampshire at 7 p.m.
