COLLEGE PARK, MD - The Maryland softball team will host Colgate on Tuesday night in a midweek nonconference matchup before heading to Oklahoma City for more Big Ten action.

matchup preview
  • Maryland enters the game with a 12-12 overall record and a 2-1 Big Ten record after securing a series win over Rutgers to open conference play. The Terps dropped the first game 5-1 but responded with back-to-back victories, winning 4-1 and 11-7.
  • In their most recent game, the Terps smashed four home runs, their most in a single game since April 4, 2015, against Indiana. Sydney Lewis launched two homers, while Mazie MacFarlane and Matti Benson each added one. In the circle, Bri Godfrey dominated, throwing five scoreless, hitless innings to secure the series-clinching win.
  • Colgate enters the matchup with an 8-15 overall record, coming off competition in the UMBC Invitational, where they faced UMBC and Manhattan. The Raiders took two games from Manhattan but dropped all three matchups against UMBC. The previous weekend, Colgate faced Big Ten opponent Rutgers, falling 1-3 in the series.
  • At the plate, Quinn Livesay leads the Raiders, posting a .361 batting average with a team-high 26 hits, 8 doubles, and 15 RBIs. She has also launched five home runs this season.
  • On the mound, junior Maya Servedio has been Colgate's most active pitcher, making 17 appearances (14 starts). She holds the second-lowest ERA on the team (4.32) and leads the Raiders in wins with a 5-9 overall record.
  • This game marks the first-ever meeting between Maryland and Colgate on the diamond.
