COLLEGE PARK, MD – Senior Shyanne Sellers of the Maryland women's basketball team (25-7) earned Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention honors this week.
 
Sellers earned All-Big Ten First Team honors from the media for the third straight season earlier this month. She is averaging 14.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season for the Terrapins.
 
Sellers, who was a Preseason All-Big Ten honoree, has scored in double figures in 25 of 30 games this season. She was named Big Ten Player of the Week once and to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll twice.
 
Sellers is currently No. 12 on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 1,666 career points. She needs 14 points to pass Christy Winters Scott (1,679) at No. 11. Sellers' 518 career assists are No. 3 in the Maryland career record book. She is behind just Debbie Lytle (583) and Kristi Toliver (751). She is the first player in program history with 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists.
 
Sellers' career free throw percentage of 82.9% is No. 2 in Maryland history, behind just Kristi Toliver (86.6%). Bri McDaniel's career percentage of 78.5% is No. 10.
 
Fourth-seeded Maryland earned its 16th top-four seed under Brenda Frese. The Terrapins earned their 15th straight NCAA Tournament bid, dating back to 2011. This is the Terrapins' 21st NCAA bid under Frese in her 23 seasons in College Park. The Terrapins advanced to their fourth Sweet Sixteen in five years and 12th under Frese Monday.
 
The No. 4-seeded Maryland (25-7) women's basketball team will take on top-seeded South Carolina (32-3) Friday in the NCAA Regional Semifinals at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala. The Terps and the Gamecocks will tip off at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN. The Terrapins are in the Birmingham 2 Region.
