Terrapins Lose to No. 18 Wisconsin 4-2

MADISON, WI -- The University of Maryland women's tennis team lost to No. 18 Wisconsin 4-2 on Friday.

In doubles, it was back and forth. Danielle Hack and Kallista Liu got things going quickly, sweeping the No. 2 doubles match 6-0 for their second doubles win in a row. Wisconsin responded by taking the No. 1 doubles match over Diya Challa and Ema Kovacevic 6-2. With the doubles point on the line, Wisconsin took the No. 3 doubles match over 6-3 to move ahead 1-0.

In singles Wisconsin extended their lead, taking the No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-1 to go up 2-0.

Danielle Hack responded for Maryland, winning the No. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-4 to get the Terps on the board. Oliwia Orlinska kept things going, winning two straight sets to take the No. 4 singles match. 

Wisconsin went back up by one. Winning the No. 5 singles match over Tamari Gagoshidze to go ahead 3-2. Wisconsin then took a hard fought No. 2 singles match over Ema Kovacevic after three sets.

Diya Challa was leading in the No. 6 singles match when Wisconsin clinched the win.
