East Brunswick, N.J. -- The University of Maryland women's tennis team defeated Rutgers 4-2 on Saturday.
Tamari Gagoshidze and Oliwia Orlinska opened the match by taking the No. 2 doubles match 6-2. Rutgers then took the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles match to secure the doubles point.
In singles, Rutgers moved ahead 2-0, taking the No. 6 singles match 6-3, 6-2.
Tamari Gagoshidze earned the Terps' first point of the match, taking the No. 4 singles match 6-1, 6-3.
Kallista Liu kept things going for the Terrapins, taking the No. 1 singles match to make it 2-2.
Danielle Hack got the Terps first lead of the match, taking the No. 2 singles match to push Maryland ahead 3-2.
After losing the first set of the No. 3 singles match, Oliwia Orlinska rallied, taking two sets to win the No. 3 singles match. Orlinska's win clinched the 4-2 win for the Terps.
