4/23/2025 6:00:00 PM | Softball
Despite Delaware (31-14) scoring the game's first run, Maryland scored 11 unanswered runs with several different Terps pitching in. Wurst made her ninth start in the circle and dominated throughout the contest. She improved to 7-2 on the season while allowing only one run on four hits. She also struck out two Blue Hens.
Sam Bean (3 RBIs), Sydney Lewis (3 RBIs), Julia Shearer and Caitlyn Cornwell all finished with multiple RBIs. Bean's runs came on a two-run homer in the fourth inning, keeping the Blue Hens out of reach of climbing back in the game. It was her seventh homer of the season and 15th of her career. Bean also led the Terps with three runs scored.
Lewis drove in her first two with a two-RBI single in the top of the third. She then drove in the other on a fielder's choice in the fifth. Cornwell's second RBI occurred on an RBI single in the third.Action through 4! 📸#FearTheTurtle pic.twitter.com/oaKRInqXxs
