Terps Drop Game One To Huskers, 6-0

LINCOLN, NE – Maryland softball dropped the opening game of its regular-season series finale against No. 20 Nebraska, 6-0, at Bowlin Stadium on Friday. The game was delayed twice due to inclement weather. The Terps are now 18-29 overall and 3-17 in Big Ten play.

Nebraska (36-12, 15-5 Big Ten) opened the game by taking a two-run lead in the top of the first. They later extended their lead with two more two-run innings in the fourth and sixth. 

Julia Shearer made her 15th start in the circle this season. She surrendered six runs while striking out one batter. Bri Godfrey pitched the final inning, holding the Huskers hitless while striking out one batter. 
  Mariah Penta recorded Maryland's lone hit in the contest. 

Nebraska's Jordy Bahl went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run. She also pitched a complete game and nine strikeouts.
