Nelligan Adds New Talent to 2026 Roster

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Maryland gymnastics program has welcomed five experienced transfers from programs across the country, Head Coach Brett Nelligan announced Wednesday, adding depth and talent to the Terps' 2026 roster. 

"We are excited to welcome five new GymTerps to the Maryland Gymnastics family." Nelligan said. "All five are incredible gymnasts and outstanding students who will be a great fit for our team and culture."
Aine Reade Transfer Gym

Aine Reade 

Hometown: Merrimac, Massachusetts
Previous School: University of New Hampshire 
 

Before Maryland: Aine Reade joins the GymTerps as a freshman transfer from the University of New Hampshire. Reade made an immediate mark in her debut season, qualifying as an individual for floor at the 2025 NCAA Regionals and earning EAGL Rookie of the Week honors eight times. She was named to the EAGL Championships All-Tournament First Team for vault, bars, floor, and all-around, and secured All-EAGL First Team honors on floor and all-around, as well as Second Team honors on vault and bars. Reade also excelled academically, earning a spot on the EAGL All-Scholastic Team.
Aine Reade:  "I chose Maryland because the moment I stepped on campus, I felt incredibly welcomed by the amazing atmosphere created by the coaches and the team. They truly made me feel at home and like I was already part of the family. Maryland offers so many opportunities and resources that will challenge me to grow and become my best self and that's how I knew it was the right place for me."
Head coach Brett Nelligan: "Having so much experience as a freshman will be an incredible asset to Aine as she looks to take her gymnastics to the next level. She has the ability to compete on all 4 events here at Maryland and her floor routine is a show-stopper, one of the best in the country. I know she is also excited about returning to her Yurchenko 1 1/2 on vault from her Developmental Program career."
Megan Bingham Gym Transfer

Megan Bingham

Hometown: Louisville, Kentucky
Previous School: Bowling Green State University 
 

Before Maryland: Megan, who will joining the Terps as a senior, was named Second Team All-MAC for the all-around and earned Academic All-MAC honors in 2024 and 2025. She tied the program's top beam score with a 9.95 and won four all-around titles in 2025. Academically, she has made the Dean's List in all six semesters.
Megan Bingham: "When I came to visit Maryland, I fell in love with campus and the potential it gives me academically. I was able to meet with the team and coaches, and I felt a sense of family that I wanted to be a part of. I can't wait to be a GymTerp and win a Big Ten Championship!"
Head coach Brett Nelligan: "From our first meeting we fell in love with Megan and her family, they will all make outstanding Terps! Megan is the total package, strong and beautiful gymnastics on all 4 events.  An incredibly consistent competitor, Megan has the ability to compete in the all-around here at Maryland in her final season of collegiate gymnastics."
Chelsey Dennis Signed

Chelsey Dennis

Hometown: Altamonte Springs, FL
Previous School: Towson University 


Before Maryland: Chelsey Dennis joins the Terrapins as a sophomore transfer from Towson University, where she made an immediate impact as a freshman. A two-time EAGL Rookie Specialist of the Week, Dennis also earned First Team All-EAGL honors on uneven bars and was named to the All-EAGL Scholastic Team.
Chelsey Dennis: "I chose to go to UMD because it gave me the chance to grow both in my studies and in gymnastics. From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt so welcomed and supported by the people and environment. UMD stands out to me because it offers so much more than just academics, it felt like a true home."
Head coach Brett Nelligan: "Chelsey is an elegant beam and bar worker with stunning lines and beautiful form. With 2 years left to to compete she has the chance to be a dominant force on both events."
Katrina Mendez-Albonik Transfer Gym

Katrina Mendez-Albonik

Hometown: Bristow, Virginia
Previous School: Bowling Green State University


Before Maryland: Katrina who will be joining as a graduate student, placed fourth on vault at the 2025 MAC Championship and has recorded 31 career competition starts since 2022. She holds career highs of 9.9 on vault, 9.825 on bars and beam, 9.85 on floor, and 39.175 in the all-around.
Katrina Mendez-Albonik:  "From the moment I stepped foot on campus I immediately felt a sense of comfort, energy, and excitement! Maryland's culture and history was something I admired so much and I knew that it was something I wanted to be a part of. As a kid they told me you can never stop learning and to always dream big! I can't picture a better place to do that at than at the University of Maryland! I can't wait to see how much I accomplish in my journey as a Terp!"
Head coach Brett Nelligan: "Katrina is one of the most powerful and explosive gymnasts ever to come to College Park. Katrina has the ability to be deep in the lineup on floor and has potential to anchor on vault with her big, beautiful Yurchencko 1 1/2."
Alexis Czarrunchick

Alexis Czarrunchick

Hometown: Howell, New Jersey
Previous School: University of Georgia
 

Before Maryland: Alexis, who will be joining as a redshirt freshman, was named to the Dean's List at UGA in 2025. In club and high school competition, she was the 2019 New Jersey state vault and all-around champion and regional bar champion. She won the 2022 Shore Conference vault and all-around titles and placed third in the state all-around. In 2023, she was the sectional all-around champion and finished second in the state all-around.
Alexis Czarrunchick: "After visiting Maryland, I knew I could call it home! The incredible coaching staff and team have already made it feel like a family. The positive atmosphere is a place I know can support me academically and athletically. So excited to join the Terp family!" 
Head coach Brett Nelligan: "Alexis is an incredibly hard-working and talented gymnast. Alexis shines on Vault, Bars and Floor and could make an impact right away for the GymTerps on all 3 events."
