
Kanpai Finishes at NCAA Regionals

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA -- Junior Nicha Kanpai of the Maryland women's golf team wrapped up at NCAA Regionals Wednesday at the Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Va.
Kanpai, competing as an individual, tied for 27th with a score of 221 (70-72-79), which was +8 overall.
Kanpai finishes her junior season with four top 10 finishes this year, including a win at the Cougar Classic last fall.
This was Kanpai's third appearance in NCAA Regionals. Last year, Kanpai tied for 24th at the Bryan Regional in Bryan, Texas with her score of 221 (77-71-73), which was +5.
Last week, Kanpai won a US Open Qualifying event in Springfield, Va. to qualify for the US Open presented by Ally, which will be played May 29- June 1 at the Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wis.
