Hacopian's homer was a two-run shot in the top of the first inning. It gave Maryland an early lead it never relinquished. The homer was the sophomore's 11th of the season and 26th of his career. He went 2-for-5 in the ballgame and has six homers over his last 12 games.
Porter (solo) and Jones (three-run) hit their homers in the top of the sixth. Porter has a team-high 21 home runs this season, which is the sixth-most for a single season in program history. He drove in two runs, also recording an RBI groundout, giving him 63 RBI on the season. That mark ranks tied for the 10th most for a single season in program history. Jones, a native of Minnesota, hit his second home run of his freshman season. Brayden Martin joined Hacopian as Terps with multiple hits, going 2-for-3. He also scored two runs. The sophomore even walked once, upping his walk total to 54 this season.
