BETHESDA, MD -- The Broadcast & Production department in Maryland Athletics won three Capital Emmy Awards as announced by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, National Capital
Chesapeake Bay Chapter on Saturday at the 67th Annual Awards ceremony.
Maryland Athletics has now won 12 Capital Emmy Awards over the last four years.
Albert Tong, Assistant Athletic Director for Football Creative Video, captured an Emmy in the category of Sports Program - Post-Produced or Edited for UNLOCKED Season 6.
Jack Cohen, Student Video Production Assistant for Maryland Football, won two Emmy Awards. The first came for Non-News: Program Promotion (Single Spot) for producing the Maryland Football "No Good Intentions" — Maryland Football's 2024 Season Trailer. Cohen also won an Emmy Award in the category of Editor: Sports for his Maryland Football Composite piece.
Overall, Maryland Athletics had a total of five nominations as Tong was also nominated for Capital Emmy nominations in the Sports Story - Short Form Content (Up To 10 Minutes) with his for editing and directing "Storming Back" — a Cinematic Recap of Maryland's comeback win over USC. Cohen also received an Emmy Award nomination in the Sports Open/Tease for producing the Maryland Football Kickoff Hype Video.
Additionally, former Maryland star Greivis Vasquez earned a Capital Emmy as producer of his documentary "All I Ever Wanted."
