Maryland returned to .500 in Big Ten play in 2025 after a late-night loss to USC.
LOS ANGELES, CA — The Terps (6-5, 2-2 Big Ten) fell to USC (5-3-1, 2-2 Big Ten) 3-0 on the road in a late-night battle with the Trojans. USC capitalized on two early goals and fought off several Maryland attacks to preserve the shutout.
USC got on the board early as Maribel Flores found the back of the net off a free kick following a foul. The Terps were forced to play from behind as they looked for their third conference win.
The Trojans doubled their lead after a yellow card presented them with a penalty kick. Katie Park drilled it home to put USC ahead 2-0 shortly before halftime. USC held on in the second half to earn its fifth win of the season. Hana Mizumoto scored in the 89th minute to create the 3-0 final tally.
