COLLEGE PARK, MD – The original Under Armour school, the University of Maryland, will be debuting exclusive limited-edition uniforms for men's and women's basketball over the next two weeks. Fans can see the state-of-the-art uniforms for the first time with the nationally ranked women's team in its game against Purdue on Feb. 22. The men will wear the new uniforms against Rutgers on March 1.
Maryland has been at the forefront with revolutionary cutting-edge uniforms since joining forces with Under Armour in the early 2000s. The relationship began when UA founder and CEO Kevin Plank played football, served as a special teams captain for the Terrapins and graduated from the university in 1996.
These state-of-the-art uniforms feature an icy white base with iridescent numbers and Maryland spelled out across the chest. The Under Armour and Big Ten logos will match those elements on the jersey, while the shorts feature the Maryland M-Bar logo in the iridescent-blend as well.
Maryland and Under Armour continue to challenge industry standards by embracing unconventional inspiration and materials. The numerals and marks create a unique interpretation of school colors using iridescence owned exclusively by the University. The iridescence contains an uninterrupted blend of gold, black and red.
The all-white base and trim of the uniform are used to create a minimalist, stark silhouette.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase t-shirts, pullovers and sweatshirts with the script shift design through https://shop.umterps.com as well as at XFINITY Center on game days at the concourse merchandise areas.
