
Riley’s Performance Headlines Day One For Maryland At Big Ten Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Taylor Riley moved into fourth on Maryland's all-time indoor Top 10 list in the 600 meters to highlight Day one of the Big Ten Indoor Championships at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.
Nine Maryland Terrapins competed on the opening day, including four runners who made up the distance medley relay team.
Riley ran a time of 1:31.31 in the 600 meters to move up to fourth all-time in the event; the freshman previously held the sixth best mark. She placed 14th overall in the event with her personal-best time for the highest individual finish of the day for the Terps.
In the 200 meters, Naaema Robinson and Jasmine Davids placed 18th and 22nd, respectively. In the 5,000 meters, Ellie Keefer (35th) and Leonora Lynn (36th) rounded out the individual competitors on the opening day.
The final event of Thursday's action saw Annika Metzger, Taylor Riley, Lucy Scothern, and Eva Rogers place 13th in the distance medley relay with a time of 11 minutes, 38.48 seconds.
The Maryland Terrapins track and field team returns to action tomorrow, Feb. 27, at 11:30 a.m. in Indianapolis for day two of the Big Ten Indoor Championships.
