Brayden Martin Tabbed No. 2 Outfielder In Big Ten By D1Baseball

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Brayden Martin was named the No. 2 outfielder in the Big Ten and the No. 60 outfielder nationally by D1Baseball.

Coming off a standout sophomore season, Martin looks to build on his collegiate success after serving as a key piece for the Terps in 2025. He led the Big Ten with 59 walks, ranking eighth nationally, and set a new conference record with 34 walks across 30 league games. Martin also posted an impressive .478 on-base percentage, which ranked seventh in the Big Ten.

Last season Martin switched to #42, following in the footsteps of his uncle Walt Williams who wore the #42 while starring for the Maryland's men's basketball program from 1988-92. Williams finished his Maryland career with 1,704 points, which is the 13th-most in program history. "The Wizard", as he is known in College Park, was a finalist for the Wooden and Naismith Player of the Year Awards as a senior, averaging 26.8 points per game. Following his playing days at Maryland, Williams was selected with the seventh pick in the 1992 NBA Draft by Sacramento and went on to play 11 season in the NBA.

The Terrapins will open the 2026 campaign on the road with a three-game series at UNC Wilmington from Feb. 13-15 before returning to College Park to begin their home schedule against Georgetown on Feb. 17.
