The Terps tallied five extra-base hits in their 12th win of 2026

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland coasted to a 8-2 win over Delaware on Tuesday night to move to 12-11 on the season. Five of the Terps nine hits went for extra bases as Maryland picked up its sixth home victory of 2026.

Three-straight extra-base hits got the scoring started in the bottom of the second. Mariah Penta's second homer of the season left the yard to center field before Bailey Murphy and Matti Benson recorded back-to-back doubles to give Maryland a 2-0 lead.

Sammi Woods picked up another multi-hit day that featured a two-RBI double in the fourth inning that extended the Terps' lead to 5-2. Woods' 33 hits this season lead the Terps.

Maryland broke the game open with a three-run sixth inning. Zayda Rocke picked up a pair of RBIs with a single before Caroline Fox dropped down a perfectly-placed bunt to bring home the Terps' sixth run of the night.

Maryland held the Blue Hens (11-13) to two hits in Tuesday's midweek clash. Delaware got both of its runs on a homer in the third, but Aubrey Wurst came in to throw 4.0 scoreless, hitless frames in the win to snatch her second win of the season.

T1: Olensky stranded the bases loaded in a scoreless first.
B2: Penta's second homer of the season put the Terps on the board.
B2: Murphy and Benson recorded back-to-back doubles as Maryland went up 2-0.
T3: Delaware tied the game with a two-run homer.
B3: Anna McGowan picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice.
T4: Wurst threw a 1-2-3 frame.
B4: Woods plated a pair of runs with a two-RBI double.
B5: Rocke's two-RBI single extended the lead to 7-2.
