Tolu Akinduro Earns Second Team All-American Honors In The Triple Jump

FAYETTEVILLE, ARTolu Akinduro earned All-American honors in the triple jump Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville. Akinduro is the first Terp to earn the honor since 2021.

Akinduro reached a distance of 12.41 meters on her first jump of the day, on her third jump of the day the senior hit a mark of 12.48 meters. The senior placed 16th overall to earn the second-team All-America honor.


Akinduro is the first Terrapin to earn All-American honors at the indoor track and field championships since Angel Nkwonta achieved the honor in the women's shot put in 2021.


The Maryland Terrapins will resume outdoor track and field action next Friday and Saturday March 20th-21st at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge.
