LaPointe Scores Six in No. 3 Terps’ 15-7 Win Over Oregon

Maryland grabbed its first conference win of the season on LaPointe’s career day.

EUGENE, OR — Lauren LaPointe scored a career-high six goals against the Ducks as No. 3 Maryland bested Oregon 15-7 to move to 8-0 for the first time since 2022. Kori Edmondson scored a trio of goals as the Terps kept their great start to the season going with a Big Ten win.  Maryland exploded out of the gate on Saturday with a six-goal first quarter. LaPointe netted a hat trick in the opening frame while Kristen Shanahan, Edmondson, and Maisy Clevenger all found the back of the net.  The Terps added four more in the second. LaPointe tallied her fourth of the day after Edmonson secured her hat trick with a two-goal quarter and Shanahan netted her second. Maryland took a 10-3 lead into the break. 

LaPointe netted her fifth in the third quarter and sixth in the fourth while Leah Miller, Kayla Gilmore, and Lexi Dupcak got on the board. Seven different Terps scored in the win as JJ Suriano made seven saves in net and Jordyn Lipkin tallied three assists. How it Happened:
1st Quarter:
  • Suriano made a save in the opening minutes.
  • Oregon scored the opener. 
  • LaPointe scored Maryland's first two goals.
  • Shanahan gave the Terps a 3-1 lead midway through the quarter.
  • Edmonson scored her first of the day and 18th of the season.
  • Clevenger and LaPointe scored in the final minute.
  • Maryland led 5-1 after the first quarter.
2nd Quarter:
  • Oregon opened the scoring with its second goal. 
  • Edmonson secured her hat trick with back-to-back goals.
  • Shanahan and LaPointe sandwiched an Oregon goal to make it 10-3 at the half.
3rd Quarter:
  • The Ducks opened the second-half scoring.
  • Gilmore, Miller, and LaPointe created a 3-0 run to expand the lead to 13-4 headed into the fourth.
4th Quarter:
  • Oregon scored back-to-back goals before LaPointe netted her sixth of the day. 
  • Dupcak scored her ninth of the season to make it 15-6.
  • The Ducks netted a late goal. 
  • Maryland closed the 15-7 win.
Multi-Point Terps:
  • LaPointe (six goals, assist) scored a career-high six goals in her 18th-career multi-goal game.
  • Edmonson (three goals) netted her 36th-career hat trick.
  • Shanahan (two goals, assist) recorded her 19th-career multi-goal game. 
  • Lipkin (three assists) tallied multiple assists for the third time in her career.

  • Maryland is 8-0 for the first time since 2022, including its first 5-0 start on the road since the same season.
  • The Terps are outscoring opponents 108-75 in 2026 and have held opponents to single-digit scoring six times.
