Murphy Plates Three in 8-5 Loss to Indiana

Zayda Rocke hit her sixth homer of the season on Friday.
COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland and Indiana battled in a back-and-forth game to open their weekend series, but the Hoosiers came away with an 8-5 win to drop the Terps to 13-15, (1-6 Big Ten) in 2026.
Caitlin Olensky got the start in the circle for Maryland and held Indiana hitless until the fourth in her 4.2-inning outing. She limited the Hoosiers to just two earned runs and only conceded three hits while collecting a pair of strikeouts.
After Caroline Fox opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second, Bailey Murphy cleared the bases with a three-RBI double in the bottom of the fourth inning to give Olensky and the Terps a 4-0 lead.

Indiana took the final lead with a three-run seventh and held on to move to 23-6 (5-2 Big Ten) on the season. Maryland gets a shot at redemption on Saturday at 2 PM.⬇️6️⃣ Zayda ties the game on a solo home run!💣
