#47 Maryland Women’s Tennis Defeats #22 Wisconsin in Absolute Thriller! First Top-25 Win in 13 Years!

COLLEGE PARK, MD – The University of Maryland Women's Tennis Team won its first match against a Top-25 team since 2013 as the Terps downed No. 22 Wisconsin, 4-3 for its second home Big Ten conference win of the season. The Terps are now 11-2 and 3-1 in Big Ten Conference play.
This is Maryland's highest ranked win since beating No. 11 Duke on April 19, 2013.
In doubles, the Badgers earned the point after winning two of the three doubles matches.
In singles matches, Emma Ghirardato and Diya Challa win in two sets, giving the Terps the lead. After Oliwia Orlinska and Lucia Donnelly fell in their matches, in addition to Magdalena Baniak winning, it all came down to Ema Kovacevic's match.
Tied at 1-1, Kovacevic's match went down to the wire, finally winning the third set, 6-4.
