STATE COLLEGE, PA – The University of Maryland women's tennis team loses to #51-ranked Penn State 4-2 in the Terps' sixth Big Ten match.
In the doubles round, Penn State got the point after winning two of the three doubles matches.
In singles, the Terps would not stand down!
Oliwia Orlinska got the Terps the first point, followed by Ema Ghirardato to force the score to 2-2. After
Diya Challa was defeated in three sets, it was all down to
Ema Kovacevic and
Lucia Donnelly.
After a hard-fought battle,
Ema Kovacevic fell in two sets, giving Penn State the victory.
Lucia Donnelly's match went unfinished.
The match was called after the clinch.
The Terps are now 12-3 altogether and 4-2 in Big Ten matches.
