Terps Fall in Rubber Match With No. 12 USC

Maryland benefited from three sacrifice-flies in Sunday’s clash.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Trojans prevailed in Sunday's rubber match between Maryland and No. 12 USC. The road squad scored seven runs in the first two innings to down the Terps, 14-4, and drop Maryland to 12-15 (2-7 Big Ten) in 2026.

Brayden Martin scored a pair of runs as Maryland tried to climb out of the early hole. The Terps used three sacrifice-flies from Rylen Stockton, Paul Jones II, and Jackson Sirois to plate three of their four runs in the loss.

Both Martin and Jones II logged multi-hit days as they combined for four of the Terps' seven hits. Martin extended his on-base streak to 57 straight games as he reached four times on Sunday. Maryland hosts Richmond to wrap up the month on Mar. 31.
