The Terps get ready to face Penn State next weekend.

MADISON, WI — Wisconsin used an early lead to push past Maryland 12-3 on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the weekend series. The Terps dropped to 13-20 and 1-11 in Big Ten competition with the loss.

Mariah Penta provided the Terps' offense on Sunday with a three-run shot in the fifth inning to mark her fourth homer of the season.

Wisconsin put the game out of reach early with a four-hit, six-run first inning. Highlighted by a three-run triple, the Badgers jumped ahead of Maryland to improve to 19-11 (5-4 Big Ten) in 2026.

Matti Beson had two of Maryland's five hits in the loss. The Terps head to State College next weekend for a three-game series against Penn State as the Terps' 2026 Big Ten slate rolls on.

B1: Wisconsin scored six runs in the bottom of the first on four hits.
T2: Benson and Caroline Fox both singled to mark Maryland's first knocks of the day.
B2: UW added to its lead with a solo homer.
T4: Benson singled for her second hit of the game.
T5: Penta's three-run homer put the Terps on the board.
B5: Wisconsin took a 9-3 lead with a two-run homer.
