COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The Maryland Terrapins (12-15) are set to face the Richmond Spiders (14-14) at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium" Tuesday, Mar. 31. This will be the second time this season these two teams faced off and 71st time in history. Devin Russell made his mark on the first game as he blasted a three-run homer at Richmond on March 17. First pitch is set for 4 pm and admission is free for all fans. Those who can't make the game can watch on B1G+ or listen live on Maryland Baseball Network.

where we are
  • The Terps snagged a win over No. 12 ranked USC on Saturday to move to 12-15 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
  • Three Terps went yard for the first time in 2026 on Saturday. Both Ty Kaunas and Jackson Sirois hit their first homers as Terps while Brayden Martin hit his first of the season.
  • Two freshmen pitchers made their debuts on Friday night. Quinn Yellin notched his first collegiate strikeout against his first batter faced en route to a scoreless inning with no hits allowed. The following inning Peyton Mamula came in and pitched a quick 1-2-3 inning. Freshman Austin Weiss finished the game with a scoreless inning himself.
  • Tested by one of the nation's toughest slates, the Terps currently rank fourth in strength of schedule, with their opponents combining for a .6505 winning percentage — the third-highest mark in the country.

Beauty of the bats
  • Rylen Stockton had four hits over the weekend (.500 batting average) to move to 28 on the season. In the first game of the series, he sent the ball flying for his fifth home run of the season. He now sits at 50 total bases and becomes the second Terp to reach the half century mark this season.
  • Paul Jones II sits at 27 hits on the season after knocking three over the weekend. Out of his past 11 games he has recorded a hit in nine of them, with four of those games coming with multiple hits.
  • Jordan Crosland holds the second highest batting average (.325) and OPS (1.032) on the team. He currently sits at 45 total bases on the season, he is one of seven Terps to have 40 or more.
  • In the last five games, Jackson Sirois has recorded six hits and six RBI. In 19 appearances he now stands at 10 RBI and becomes the eighth Terp to record 10 or more RBI this season.

crushing coz
  • Ryan Costello's stardom standouts when he takes the batters box. He has recorded 28 hits, 16 XBH and 20 walks this season.
  • His home run on Friday night against USC was his 11th of the season. He currently leads all freshmen in the nation in this category and ranks second in the Big Ten.
  • Costello's 66 total bases leads the team, along with his 1.050 OPS and 34 RBI.
Marvelous martin
  • This past week, Brayden Martin was ranked No. 57 in D1Baseball's outfielders list.
  • Martin currently leads the team with 39 hits, a .361 batting average and 24 walks. He has also tallied 18 RBI and 49 total bases.
  • "BMart" as fans and teammates may know him as, is on a 57-game on-base streak. The last time he didn't reach a base came over a year ago on March 28, 2025 vs. Northwestern.
  • Martin causes issues for the opposition with his base running as he has stolen 10 bases this season on 10 attempts for a 100% success rate.
  • His dominance is displayed on the defensive side as well. Martin is a utility player but can usually be found in the outfield or at third base. On Sunday he started at third base and made two back to back impressive plays at the hot corner to get the outs and end the inning.
