Maryland honored the legacy of Bob “Turtle” Smith with commemorative hats and baseball cards on Friday night.
Maryland's first hit of the night exploded off the bat of Rylen Stockton and cleared the fence in center for his seventh homer of 2026. The Terps collected seven hits in the loss to the Hoosiers.
Paul Jones II clobbered his fourth homer of the season in the seventh inning to mark his 35th hit of the season, which is good for fourth on the team despite having fewer at-bats than the three sluggers ahead of him.No doubt 'bout that!

Maryland's baseball stadium was re-dedicated as Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium in 2010 after a large donation — part of over $3 million donated by the Smith family — to cement his legacy with the program. Smith passed away last July, and the Terps donned throwback hats against the Hoosiers to honor him, as well as invited family members to throw out Friday's first pitch.
