Maryland Women's Tennis Earns Three All-Big Ten Honors

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The University of Maryland Women's Tennis team has earned three All-Big Ten Honors awards, the conference announced Wednesday. Oliwia Orlinska received a spot on the All-Big Ten Second Team, Magdalena Baniak earned a place on the All-Big Ten Freshman Team, and lastly, Tamari Gagoshidze was the Terps' representative for the Sportsmanship Honoree.

Orlinska is currently the 111th-ranked singles player by ITA and holds a singles record of 11-6 in, and 10-9 in doubles. In her sophomore season, she continually played on the #1-singles court and played over five ranked singles players throughout the season.

Baniak was a mainstay at singles court #3, where she recorded 13 singles wins in her freshman season and 8 doubles victories. 

Gagoshidze, the lone senior on the Terps, has earned the sportsmanship honoree for the Terps. 

These are the first Big Ten Awards for all three.

The Terps will be in action tomorrow, April 23rd, at 2 PM on B1G + against #10-seeded Northwestern in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament in Columbus, Ohio.
