The sophomore threw a one-hit shutout as the Terps evened the weekend series.

EAST LANSING, MI — Maryland evened its weekend series with Michigan State with a 3-0 win on Saturday afternoon on the back of Aubrey Wurst's elite pitching performance. She had a milestone day as the Terps improved to 18-29 (4-19 Big Ten) in 2026.

Wurst was fantastic in the circle on Saturday afternoon. She held Michigan State to just one hit through her seven innings of work and kept the Spartans scoreless in her fifth win of the season. She tallied five Ks on Saturday to reach the 100-career strikeout mark in her sophomore season.

The Terps waited until the third inning to record their first hit, but it came at a key time as Anna McGowan drove in Sammi Woods to give Maryland a 1-0 lead. The timely base knock gave McGowan her team-leading 35th RBI of the season and gave Wurst a lead to protect.

The Terps loaded the bases in the seventh inning, allowing Caroline Fox to plate a pair of insurance runs with a two-RBI single. Maryland wraps up its weekend series and regular season on Sunday at 12 PM against Michigan State.
