
DeVaughn Qualifies In 110 Meter Hurdles On Day Two Of Big Ten Championships

LINCOLN, NE - Maryland closed out day two of the Big Ten Track and Field Championships in Lincoln on Saturday evening. Highlights of the day included a top-10 all-time mark, a personal best and a qualifying time in the 110-meter hurdles.
Justin DeVaughn finished in 6th place overall and qualified for the 110 meter hurdle finals after running a time of 13.93 seconds in the prelims.
The freshman also tied the program's eighth all-time mark in the event, and he is the first since Caleb Dean in 2021 to enter the top ten list in the 110 meter hurdles.
Aaron Abedin set a new personal best in the 400 meters after running a time of 47.14 seconds.
Nate Shields set a new season best in the long jump after leaping to a distance of 7.21 meters. Shields also finished in 16th place overall in the event today.
