COLLEGE PARK, MD — Each week during the 2025–26 season, a Maryland student-athlete who has demonstrated excellence both on and off the field of competition is selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week. This week's honoree is sophomore Paul Jones II of the baseball team. Paul Jones II has also been honored with the final Big Ten Player of the Week of the season after a record-breaking week of performances.
Jones started the week with a monstrous performance on Tuesday vs. Georgetown to shatter the record books. He blasted three hits, all being home runs and two of them being grand slams. He finished his historical day with 11 RBI, setting a new program record for single game performance, while his three home runs tied the record.
His form continued into the weekend series, where he tallied at least one hit in all three games against Penn State with two of the appearances coming with multi-hits. During Sunday's rubber match, he rocketed a ball 443 feet for his fourth home run of the week, which proved to be crucial as the Terps went on to beat Penn State 6-4 to close out the season.
In four games played, Jones finished the week with a .571 batting average, four home runs, 1.429 slugging percentage, 15 RBI and eight hits- ending the regular season on an extremely high note.
