Brayden Martin Selected By Toronto Blue Jays In 11th Round Of 2026 MLB Draft

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland utility player Brayden Martin was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 342nd overall pick in the 11th round of the 2026 MLB Draft on Sunday. Martin becomes the 133rd Terrapin selected in the MLB Draft, and the 25th selection in the last 10 years.
Martin, who was named as the third baseman on the All-Big Ten Third Team, was a force to be reckoned with in the batter's box this season. He totaled a team-high 76 hits, which ranked top 10 in the conference. This contributed to his .488 on base percentage, which was second in the conference. Martin added on 21 stolen bases and 60 runs throughout the season, ranking second and fourth in the conference, respectively.
Martin broke two program records this season. The first coming on April 8 against Navy, where he reached base for a 33rd consecutive game to start the season, breaking the on-base streak to begin a season. He then went on to extend the record to 46 games. On May 12 against Georgetown, Martin recorded his 139th career walk to set a new program record. He finished with 56 walks this season, the most in the Big Ten.
