Maryland’s Faith Luckey made five saves against the ranked Huskies.
SEATTLE, WA — Maryland women's soccer battled No. 12 Washington late on Thursday night to open its Big Ten slate. The Terps hung with one of the best teams in the Big Ten, but ultimately suffered a 2-0 loss to drop to 3-3-1 (0-1 Big Ten) in 2026.
Washington put a bevy of shots on target and opened the night's scoring with a goal in the 23rd minute. The Huskies added a second goal in the 56th minute to improve to 6-0-1 (1-0 Big Ten) on the season.
Goalkeeper Faith Luckey made five saves for the Terrapins, but a lack of offensive opportunities saw Maryland fall to Washington in the fourth all-time meeting between the two schools. The Terps will stay out west to face Oregon on Sunday.
