Alyssa Klebasko posted a shutout in the Terps’ highest-ranked win since 2023.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — No. 5 Maryland earned its highest-ranked win since 2023 as the Terps defeated No. 4 Wake Forest 1-0 on Sunday afternoon during Field Hockey Alumni Weekend. The Terps improved to 8-0 for the first time since 2018 and the 12th time in program history.

The game seemed destined for overtime, but Maci Bradford broke through in the 56th minute to secure the victory on a penalty corner. Her 21st career goal proved to be the difference in the top-5 clash as Maryland earned its second ranked win of 2026.

Alyssa Klebasko made two of her six saves in the scoreless first half. She earned her 19th career shutout and 42nd win of her career on Sunday afternoon as she blanked a top-5 opponent for the first time in her career.

Maryland claimed the 42nd all-time meeting between the Terps and Wake Forest (5-2) to extend their lead in the series to 32-10. The Terps' four goals allowed in 2026 are the program's fewest through eight games since 2007. Maryland is back in action next Friday against Rutgers.

1st Quarter:

Maryland blocked a pair of Wake Forest shots in the opening minute.
The Terps recorded their first shot on a corner in the seventh minute.
Klebasko made her first save in the ninth minute.
Wake Forest made a save on a Maddie Vasilios shot in the 10th minute.
The game was scoreless after 15 minutes of action.

2nd Quarter:

Klebasko made a key save in the 18th minute.
Ella Beach recorded a shot in the 20th minute.
Maia Adamson put a shot on target in the 25th minute.
Both teams took a 0-0 tie into the break.

3rd Quarter:

Wake Forest made a save on Francisca Eschoyez in the 32nd minute as Maryland took a pair of corners.
The Terps fought off two Wake Forest corners in the 42nd minute.
The game remained tied 0-0 after 45 minutes.

4th Quarter:

Maryland blocked a shot in the 47th minute to keep the game scoreless.
Klebasko made back-to-back saves in the 51st minute.
