The Terps have their first 4-0 start since 2021.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The No. 2 Terps scored three first-half goals and Dennis Kalanzi scored in the 82nd minute to secure Maryland's 4-3 win over Delaware on Friday night at Ludwig Field. The Terps' 4-0 record marks the program's best start to a season since 2021.

Two quick goals in the first 10 minutes of Friday's match gave the Terps an early multi-goal advantage over Delaware (2-2-1). Albi Ndrenika's first goal of the season preceded Rodrigo Neri's second of the year by less than three minutes.

Following a Blue Hens' response, Zack Harris's first goal as a Terps rebuilt the two-goal advantage at the end of the first half. Maryland dominated the first half, out-shooting Delawre 9-2 across the first 45 minutes of action.

After the Blue Hens scored back-to-back goals late in the match to even the score, Kalanzi's first goal of his career put Maryland back in front. Three saves from Laurin Mack helped seal the victory.

The Terps extended their regular-season winning streak at Ludwig Field to 11 straight matches and took a 4-3 lead in their all-time series against the Blue Hens. Maryland takes its momentum into a huge clash with No. 5 Georgetown at Ludwig Field on Sept. 7.

How it Happened:
1st Half:

Henry Bernstein recorded the night's first shot in the third minute.
Ndrenika's goal (1) opened the scoring in the sixth minute and gave the Terps a 1-0 lead. Bernstein (3) and Franklin Affanyi (1) assisted on the strike.
Neri's goal (2), assisted by Ritarita (2), doubled the Maryland lead in the ninth minute.
Delaware scored in the 20th minute to get on the board.
Mack made a great save in the 27th minute.
Harris' goal (1) in the 39th minute put the Terps up 3-1. Farouk Cisse (1) assisted on the goal.
Maryland took its two-goal lead into the break.

2nd Half:

A shot from Dominic Ayella forced a Delaware save in the 52nd minute.
A good look from Kenny Quist-Therson applied pressure in the 59th minute.
Ritarita forced Delaware's fifth save in the 61st minute.
Mack made his second save in the 67th minute.
Mack came up with another save in the 72nd minute.
Marco Wright put a shot on net in the 73rd minute.
The Blue Hens crept closer with a goal in the 76th minute.
Delaware tied the match in the 81st minute.
Kalanzi's goal (1) put the Terps back in front in the 82nd minute as Bernstein (4) tallied his second assist of the night.
The Terps held on for a 4-3 win.
