Before Maryland: Lettered four seasons at McDonogh ... two-time Maryland state champion ... also lettered in football for four years, helping McDonogh to the MIAA Conference title.

Personal: David Richard Tippett, Jr. ... born January 12, 1986 ... son of Jan and David Tippett ... one of two children with younger brother Tyler ... majoring in agricultural and resource economics.
