Terps Host Georgetown Sunday at 1 p.m.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland women's lacrosse team will play host to Georgetown on Sunday, May 16, at 1 p.m. at Ludwig Field. The winner will advance to the NCAA Final Four where they will face either Virginia or Northwestern. The Terps advanced after their 22-4 win over Temple, while Georgetown moved on after a dramatic overtime 13-12 win at Duke. LiveStats and audio will be available for the game.

The Terps (15-4) and Hoyas (12-4) met earlier this year, with Maryland coming away with a 13-8 victory. In that game, Kelly Coppedge had eight points on six goals and two assists. Delia Cox scored a hat trick -- including the first goal of the game just 19 seconds after the first draw -- to help pace the Terps.

Maryland leads the all-time series 13-1. The Terps and Hoyas have met three times in the NCAA Tournament, with Maryland coming away with a win in all three. The last time the two met in the tournament was in the 2001 finals, when Maryland defeated Georgetown in a thriller, 14-13 in sudden-death overtime.

Notes from the win over Temple

Jenny Marmion and Meghan Higgins each scored the first goals of their careers against the Owls.

Kelly Coppedge's seven-point outing was the seventh game this season in which she has scored at least six points.

Coppedge needs just four points to become the 14th player in Division I history to reach 300 career points.

Acacia Walker tied her career high in points (six) and assists (four). Walker also hauled down eight draw controls, a season-high for any Terp.

Maryland committed 23 turnovers, its most this season. However, Maryland's 18 caused turnovers matched a season best (the Terps also caused 18 turnovers against Denver).

Walker's goal at 26:38 in the first half -- Maryland's fifth goal of the game -- turned out to be the game winner. Walker has four game-winners this season, second only to Coppedge (five).

It was Maryland's third 20-goal outing this season.

Freshman Jen Greeberg, who has played in three games this season, scored her fourth goal of the season against Temple. She has scored a goal in all four shots she has taken this year.

Reserve goalie Kate Capelle made her first NCAA Tournament appearance against the Owls. In three minutes of work, Capelle made two saves for the Terps.

The Terps used all 28 players available for the game against Temple.

If Maryland wins...

The Terps would advance to the Final Four for the second straight season, and for the 14th time in the last 15 seasons.

Maryland would be 16-4 on the year.

The Terps will have a four-game winning streak.

Maryland would improve to 14-1 all-time against Georgetown, including three in a row.

If Maryland loses...

The Terp would finish the season 15-5.

Maryland would fail to get to the semifinals in two of the past three seasons.

The Hoyas would snap a two-game losing streak to the Terps, and will have won two of the last three games played at Ludwig Field.

Georgetown would be in its third Final Four in the last four years.
