Maryland Head Coach Brenda Frese

On the game:
"I was extremely excited about how we played today against a very tough George Washington team. We talked a lot about focusing for a 40-minute game and I thought we were close to that tonight. I thought that we were unselfish in terms of getting the ball and were unselfish with the kicks from our post players to our perimeter players. We did a tremendous job on the glass and taking care of the ball. We always want to stay 15 turnovers or under and can still improve in that area but I thought we did a great job keeping our focus tonight and really dominated every aspect of the game."

On George Washington:
"We knew George Washington was going to come out and really be focused. They are a great team. They really made us work the first 10 minutes of the game. It was really difficult getting good shots especially the way they were defending us but we talked about playing a game for 40 minutes and were able to make a statement. We thought they would want to play their style of play. They mixed it up and gave us tough looks to whether they were in man or in zone. We were able to wear them out with our depth and our numbers on our team."

On the match-up:
"They have great guard play. You can see how quick they are able to get their shots off. They have tremendous perimeter play. I was really pleased that we were able to stay focused and keep people in front of this. We want to continue on this track and improve."

On Crystal Langhorne's play:
"We were able to establish down low as it was one on one in the post. She catches everything that you throw in there and she really gave us a dominant presence inside. The match up defense that they play is difficult to understand where you can get good looks. She is obviously one of the best post players in the country and continues to show that each and every game when she is on the court."

Junior Center/Forward Crystal Langhorne

On George Washington's play:
"The way they play defense is one-on-one in the post. Our coaches tell us that when they play like that just to get the ball inside. When the double team is coming it is so much harder to score so our coaches stress to make moves quickly and try to pass it or make a move inside."

On Laura Harper's play:
"She is great post player. She is very physical and is playing against great post players. I think she should have received the most valuable player award. She played great this tournament."

Senior Guard Shay Doron

On the season:
"The more games we have, the better it is for us. That is what we practiced all summer for: to play games. We are excited about having more games but the whole season is preparation for the NCAA tournament."

On playing three games in three days:
"This is nothing that we can't handle. We are all very strong and prepared for this all summer."

On Maryland's defensive play:
"When we have lapses a lot of times it is on the defensive end when our offense isn't flowing and we really didn't want that to happen tonight. We wanted to play a 40-minute game. We are definitely stressing staying focused every time we are in the huddle. We really want to make sure that regardless of what happens in the offense, we are able to dominate on the defensive end."

George Washington Head Coach Joe McKeown

On tonight's game:
"They just made that run at the end of the first half. I thought we were in good shape and we were defending really well in the half court. I didn't think they shot well from the three-point line today. That run at the end of the half, obviously, really hurt us."

On Maryland's second half play:
"They just get to you. They're such a deceivingly good offensive team. They come at you in so many ways and they force you to take shots a little quicker than you want to do it. You look at Maryland; all five of them have been playing together for a couple of years. You can see the continuity and they all pass really well."

On Maryland:
"Maryland's a great team. They just won a national championship and they're ranked #1 legitimately. I think they're biggest challenge is the expectations. When you have five starters back from a team that won a national championship, you're really your own biggest enemy. But to their credit, they play loose and they seem to have a lot of fun out there."

George Washington Guard Sarah-Jo Lawrence

On end of first half:
"We had a lot of breakdowns on defense and we weren't scoring on the other end, which allowed them to run. Against a team like Maryland, you can't have too many breakdowns."

George Washington Guard Kimberly Beck On tonight's game:
"We played with them for about 15 or 16 minutes in the first half and we've got to turn that into a complete game. We know what we have to work on. We missed a few shots that we probably should have made and we couldn't really turn our defense into offense like we usually do. A team like Maryland is going to capitalize on that."

George Washington Center Jessica Adair

On play of Maryland junior Crystal Langhorne:
"She's a good competitor. She's tough to play against. She does what she's supposed to do. And she's left-handed, so I had to change my game a little bit to defend her."
